Platteville High School Senior, Seth Wilson, was honored by the Platteville Regional Chamber as the Art Virtue Junior Community Spirit Award recipient!
During his time in school, Seth has shown this spirit through his involvement in a multitude of organizations including the PHS Speech Team, Educators Rising, and being a founding member of the Platteville High School Sports Network and the Broadcasting Club. He also recently organized a Student Forum to give voice to his fellow students in the April 1 school board candidate race, a first in the school's history.
His work extends into the community with being a sports announcer with Queen B Radio and assisting Inspiring Community with their community efforts and social media.
Seth was unable to attend the in-person ceremony on March 13th in Belmont because he was producing his final broadcast as a senior in Richland Center as the Hillmen Boys Basketball Team battled Wisconsin Dells. Mr. Wodarz was able to present Seth his award during an all-school assembly earlier this week.
"I believe that community spirit isn’t just about what we do, it’s about how we do it," says Seth. "It’s about lifting others up, recognizing those who support us, and paying that kindness forward. And that’s exactly what I hope to keep doing for years to come."
Congratulations to Seth for this honor and for showing us what Platteville spirit truly is.
